The tuning is overall a bit sharp, if you want to play along with the original recording as you practice the song, tune your guitar to a tuner set to 446 Hz, not 440. My online guitar tuner can do this.
Before the song starts, there’s a free-time church organ part which is pretty hard to define, it took me a while to work out what was actually going on…
Here’s the TAB for how this intro could work on the guitar, without a capo, just playing the chords:
Thinking in the key of G, using a capo on fret 4, it’s easy to incorporate the melody, this means the chords change. Here’s what I think you should play:
Here’s the verse if played on electric, keep it simple!
The little dot above all 8th notes means to play it short, so like a 16th note, it’s easier to read as 8th notes.
Here’s how I would modify this part to work on the acoustic.
The bridge is the longest section, here’s the electric idea.
There are some modifications to the rhythms here, make sure you’re reading all of it.
On the acoustic, the chords feel more familiar and we can clearly see how all movements are super common.
Finally, the chorus is the easiest, you already know it, looks like this without a capo:

Play all sections with and without a capo, tune slightly sharp, then play along with George.
Faith is a standard on the function band repertoire, expect to play it for as long as you’re gigging, especially if you’re in the U.K., George Michael is a national treasure here.
