Beyond | TAB (capo 6)
All you need to capture the right feel is the TAB for the intro. Fit a capo on fret 6 and play the following:

There’s some lovely syncopated chord work here, and that opening major pentatonic lick is a real highlight.
When writing the intro using chords and lyrics, I felt it made most sense to notate it as G, with G6 in brackets, then G with C/G in brackets, like this:

However, with TAB, this bracketed notation feels less necessary. The G chord doesn’t return later in the bar, which is what brackets usually imply—it does, however, arrive late.
In the chord chart, this was easier to explain by placing the G on beat 4, just as you can see here in the TAB.
