Can’t Help Falling In Love | TAB (capo 2)
The first thing we need to do is put a capo on fret 2 and think as if in the key of C. Secondly, some of the movements in the verse have had to be moved down an octave in order to flow better.
Let’s look at each section using TAB for the chords since this will be the only way to make sense of it all. Here’s the intro.
You can probably tell how that was slightly awkward, not how a guitarist would naturally pick chords. This is because we are copying the piano note for note. Personally, I love it.
Here’s the verse, this is what you play for verse 1 and perhaps also verse 3.
Again, the chords are picked slightly strangely, especially the first C, and the G chords.
The movement that goes F – G7 – Am – F – Dm/E has been modified. The piano moves further up but on the guitar, this didn’t sound right. The notes are the same, it’s just an octave lower.
For verses 2 and 4 (and maybe even verse 3), the first line is slightly different, here’s TAB.
Finally, the chorus, or maybe it should have been called a bridge, is a modal interchange. I feel we’ve gone from the key of C to the key of Em, making these chords VI – IIIx. Here’s TAB.
The final three chords take us back to the key of C using an A7 (IIx in G, VIx in C). The Dm – G7 is a II – V in C.
