All Along The Watchtower | TAB
Let’s look at some TAB demonstrating how to play rhythm guitar parts for All Along The Watchtower (for the solo, check videos 3 and 4 about this in the playlist above). Here’s the intro.

There is no 3rd for the B chord, hence naming it B5. Try the full triad and decide for yourself what you prefer.
Here’s an idea for how you could play the verse. The B is still a B5 as the open string is a B, we still don’t have a 3rd.

Here’s another verse idea. Now we are using Em shapes and E shapes and more open strings.

The open B strings turn the C#m into a C#m7, for the A, we get an Aadd9. The B is finally a full B chord.
Play around with all these TAB examples, if you struggle it may be because your neck is too wide/hand is too small.
Here’s another concept, we fit a capo on fret 4 and now think in the key of Am. This is the intro.

The G is a power chord, the Am builds to the full triad. The F chord may need to be played with the thumb over the neck.
Lastly, here’s the TAB for how you could potentially play All Along The Watchtower’s verse.
