Come Away With Me | TAB

Since the chords are so basic, but we want this to be Jazz, we have to add an element of unpredictability to the rhythm.

Compare this to Wish You Were Here and see how this is the opposite.

This TAB for the verse shows you what I mean.

Come Away With Me TAB, verse.

The chords here are just I – VI on repeat, then III – IV – I – V. But look at the rhythm, it’s constantly changing. Play this over and over until you can do it, then play along with the original recording as well.

Here’s the bridge.

Come Away With Me TAB, bridge.

Again, the chords are simple (V – IV – I, and then after repeating, V). But the rhythm is never the same, giving us that feeling of fluidity.

Play this on a loop until you’ve nailed it, then use the original recording to play along. Stick with the TAB as it is.

Once you can play the verse and bridge as the TAB says all the way through, let go of it and see what happens when you just read the chords, or even better, close your eyes!
